System Prompt
The hidden set of instructions that tells a model who it is, how to behave, and what rules to follow before any user message arrives.
The system prompt is the standing brief for an AI. It sets the role, tone, boundaries, and priorities, so the model knows it is, say, a polite support assistant that only answers from approved content.
A clear system prompt is one of the cheapest ways to shape behavior, but it is not security. Determined users can try to override it, which is why it works best alongside guardrails rather than on its own.

We craft and version system prompts as part of the product, testing them with evaluations so a wording change never quietly degrades the experience.
